Meet The Doctors

Philip L. Gardner, M.D.


Dr. Gardner is a board-certified Ophthalmologist. He obtained his Medical Doctorate Degree from UC San Francisco and completed his residency at the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis.  He graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor Degree and a Doctorate Degree in Optometry. He taught cataract and anterior segment surgery at Highland Hospital for 11 years. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

David P. Bui, M.D.


Dr. Bui is a board-certified Ophthalmologist. He obtained his Medical Doctorate Degree from UC San Francisco and completed his residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.  He graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and Art.  He currently is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the UCSF School of Medicine, where he teaches cataract and anterior segment surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Jennifer B. Taylor, M.D.


Dr. Taylor is a board-certified ophthalmologist. She obtained her Medical Doctorate Degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She then completed her residency in ophthalmology at UCSF followed by a fellowship in corneal disease also at UCSF.  She graduated Summa cum Laude from Yale University with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.  She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dorothy P. Khong, M.D.


Dr. Khong is a board-certified ophthalmologist. She obtained her MD from UCLA and completed her residency at Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.  She maintains an interest in resident education, having taught Stanford residents cataract surgery and having been honored with the Resident Teaching Award as Assistant Professor at Flaum Eye Institute. She enjoys volunteering her surgical skills, having traveled to India and Vietnam to perform cataract surgery. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Meng Lee, MD


Dr. Meng Lee is optometrist trained to detect and manage macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, child vision development issues, and other eye diseases. He earned his Optometric Doctorate from The New England College of Optometry in 2008 and went on to complete an ocular disease residency through the VA Hospital in Boston. Dr. Lee can provide general eye and contact lens examinations to patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. He was raised in the Bay Area and enjoys practicing in the East Bay. Most importantly, Dr. Lee tries to spend his free time with his wife and three young children.
